Ingredients

  • 200 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 1/2 cup flaked almonds
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

Instructions

Method:
  1. Turn your oven on to 180 degrees
  2. Pop the baking paper onto your tray and throw your flaked almonds onto it.
  3. Make sure your almonds are well spread out.
  4. Pop into the oven for about 3 minutes
  5. Take the tray out and pop in your shredded coconut along with the almonds - make sure everything is well spread out.
  6. Toast for another 3-4 minutes.
  7. You'll be able to smell it toasting - it's yum!
  8. Be careful though - as they can burn very easily.
  1. While you're waiting for the nuts and coconut to toast, break up your chocolate and get it melted using the microwave or 'bain marie' method
  2. Pop some baking paper onto the second baking tray.
  3. While the chocolate is melting, dash over to the oven to check on your nuts and coconut.
  4. Dash back to check on your chocolate -
  5. When all your chocolate is melted, pour into onto the second baking tray.
  6. Move the chocolate around by lifting up the tray and tilting it this way and that so that the chocolate spreads out. You want a nice thin layer of chocolate.
  7. Take your nuts and coconut out of the oven.
  8. Before the chocolate is set, grab handfuls of the nut and coconut mix and throw it all over the chocolate - making sure it comes into contact with the chocolate or it will just fall off
  9. Pop in the fridge for 30 minutes to set
  10. When it's hard, take it out of the tray and just snap it into pieces.
  11. Stack up some pieces and pop them onto a piece of baking paper and tie with a ribbon for a great gift (or just eat it all yourself!)
