4 Ingredient High Protein Chocolate Bites

Easy, no bake protein snacks for your kids

Your kids will love helping to make these simple 4 ingredient, no-bake, protein-packed chocolate quinoa bites. They are so easy to make. These nutritious snacks only take 5 minutes to make!

They are packed full of protein from the puffed quinoa, the chia seeds and the peanut butter.

A low down on the ingredients in this recipe;

- Puffed quinoa is available in most health food stores. I got mine in thesourcebulkfoodsireland but Irish brand truenaturalgoodness also sell it. Puffed quinoa is also a great source of fibre.

If you can’t lay your hands on puffed quinoa, you could try making this with Rice Krispies - it won’t have the same nutritional content but would also work.

- A word on chocolate … I used an 85% chocolate in this which might be a bit much for your kids. If your kids say they don’t like dark chocolate what I suggest is - that you try this recipe half and half. Using half milk, half dark. Over time, you can increase the amount of dark chocolate so your kids get the added nutritional benefits from this type of chocolate.

- Chia seeds are readily available in all Irish supermarkets - packed full of protein and fibre. They taste of nothing and are tiny - so no brainer for the kids 😂

- Peanut butter is always 100% peanuts. Loads of lovely Irish brands like kelkin_ireland available. Omit the peanut butter to make these lunchbox friendly

- Cacao nibs are optional but give a lovely crunch and are packed full of healthy fats. We used cacao from True Natural Goodness.
