Chia Seed Jam
Chia seed jam is a favourite in this house - it is so quick and easy to make. Chia seed jam is a great alternative to shop bought jams as it is lower in sugar and packed full or protein from the chia seeds!
You can use chia seed jam in so many ways :
as a topping for porridge
like any jam on your bread or toast
with yoghurt
as a topping for ice cream
on top of pancakes

Chia Seed Jam
Ingredients
Food you
- 2 cups fresh or frozen raspberries
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
Stuff you
- measuring cups and spoons
- small saucepan
- wooden spoon
- 1 airtight jar
Instructions
How to make it
- Tip your raspberries into the saucepan and cook on a low heat for about 5 minutes until they have gone all mushy (don't they smell delicious?).
- Add a teaspoon or two of water if the raspberries are sticking.
- Add the maple syrup and vanilla and cook for a further minute or so.
- Add the chia seeds and cook for another 5 minutes on a low heat. Add water if the jam is starting to stick.
- Let it cool and then spoon it into a clean, clear airtight jar. It will keep in the fridge for about a week (if it lasts that long!)
