How many Easter Eggs do kids get?

Easter has just been and gone and I conducted a quick survey on my instagram to see how many Easter Eggs my followers children got.

I did this out of curiosity to see if children in Ireland were getting more Easter Eggs than in previous years *.

How many Easter Eggs did children get in 2025?

I’ve put it all into a pie chart above but as you can see from the image:

  • 53% of children got between 3-5 Easter Eggs

  • 26% of children got between 6-10 Easter Eggs

  • 6% of children got between 10-15 Easter Eggs

  • 15% of children got 15 or more Easter Eggs

How does this compare to the number of Easter Eggs children got in 2024?

Last year, when I ran a similiar survey (with a smaller group of respondents) and got the following replies:

From the pie chart you can see for 2024:

  • 50% of children got between 3-5 Easter Eggs

  • 30.8% of children got between 6-10 Easter Eggs

  • 5.8% of children got between 10-15 Easter Eggs

  • 13.5% of children got 15 or more Easter Eggs

My conclusion looking at these very rough, unscientific numbers is that children got slightly less Easter Eggs in 2024 compared to 2025.

53% of children got 5 eggs or fewer this year, compared to only 50% in 2024.

In total, 79% of respondents for less than 10 Easter Eggs in 2025, compared to 80.8% in 2024.

Is this a welcome, downward trend? I have noticed in shops that there are eggs leftover after Easter this year which is not always the case in previous years.

We’ll have to wait until next year to see if this is a continuing trend!

* note - this is a very unscientific survey based on replies from 658 follower responses on instagram (at time of publishing) in 2025 and 62 responses from subscribers on email in 2024
