5 tasty green smoothie recipes for the kids this St. Patrick's Day

How about a healthy green smoothie to start the day off? Get all the nutrients in before the parade begins!

Or use these smoothies on a daily basis for a powerful breakfast or an easy after school snack. Get the kids involved, make sure you include some veggies, protein or a healthy fat for maximum nutrition and don’t go overboard - 150ml-200ml should be enough.

Method : pick the smoothie you want to make, add to your blender and blend. Add ice/water or more milk as required. Enjoy!

Green Slime Delight

  • 4/5 frozen strawberries

  • 1 cup Greek yoghurt (protein)

  • 1/2 cup spinach leaves

  • tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp raw cashew nuts (protein)

  • 1 cup spinach

  • 1/2 cup milk of choice (protein)

  • 1 orange, peeled

  • 1 cup frozen mango

  • 1 frozen banana*

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (protein and fibre)

  • 1 cup almond milk or milk of choice (protein)

  • 3 handfuls spinach

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1 banana, frozen*

  • ¼ cup oats

  • 1 tbsp. ground flaxseeds (protein)

  • 1 large Pear , chopped

  • 1 cup Spinach Leaves

  • 1 frozen banana*

  • ¼ cup Greek Yogurt (protein)

  • ½ cup milk of choice (protein)

  • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon

  • ½ tablespoon Chia Seeds (protein)

Green as grass smoothie

  • 1 medium ripe banana, frozen*

  • 1/2 cup sliced cucumber

  • 3/4 – 1 cup coconut milk or milk of choice

  • 1 cup spinach

  • 1 tsp spirulina powder

  • Frozen banana - chop up ripe bananas and freeze them - they are a gamechanger in smoothies! They make them cool and creamy!
